North Face Sale the nearby kayak rental

A bay area running weekend to remember

Last saturday at the north face endurance challenge outside of phoenix, i encountered a couple unexpected surprise.

Intended to get one, the fact that i was there and racing wasn't something i'd planned on trapped on video tape.I'd inked in two major running trips for the 2011 calendar a stage race called the transrockies run co, and the ny marathon.I figured that you will find it for destination events. But when movie star ultramarathon runner dean karnazes emailed me and offered my boyfriend, charlie, and me race entries in the north face staying power challenge in the marin headlands, i believed i couldn't pass it up.

Followed by, there seemed to be the pleasant surprise of the north bay weather. After shivering in the 30s and 40s in seattle during recently weeks, i created running in tights and long sleeves. But when we showed up in san francisco bay area on friday morning, we came across sunny skies and a high of 70 degrees. To two pacific cycles northwesterners, it felt like the summer season. Both charlie and i ended up slathering on sunscreen lotion and racing in shorts and tank tops.

But the prevailing surprise of the north face endurance challenge weekend actually came the evening after the race.I'll get into that additionally in a moment.

The weekend began when we found its way to the bay area on friday.Local pr agency outside pr invited us to check out the trampoline gym house of air, strategically nicely situated near crissy field and the presidio. We jumped in your own huge facility, taking a bit of cautious play. (The day before a 50k run didn't seem service provider to attempt any real acrobatics. )

Though the most dedicated runners would probably have spent all of those other day resting, we couldn't resist the 70 degree sun light.Being passionate rowers, we decided we needed to view open water rowing center in sausalito, and possibly even take out a double. When we found that the center closed each day in the early afternoon, we shifted gears and headed to North Face Sale the nearby kayak rental service instead.Paddling out in the bay in shorts and tee shirts felt like a true escape from winter.

The following morning, we shifted into room between two people running mode.We headed to the ferry terminal to trap a shuttle to the race start. That is where we encountered the single hiccup of the race. When i'd asked race organizers on their facebook page the frequency of which the shuttles ran, they'd laughed and said every half hour until 6:30.We arrived at 5:50 and waited with a fast growing group North Face UK Outlet of runners.Since we'd been told we couldn't park our own truck at the race start, charlie and i scrambled to catch a ride with the husband of any of the racers, who had been waiting at the terminal. He dropped us off early on with just enough time to spare, but i wondered about the other runners depending upon shuttles.Did more vehicles ever come?Anyway, the data and organization seemed chaotic and unreliable. Not what you require on race morning!

We quickly forgot about any transporting issues, as the race began with increasing sun.Climbing up within the marin headlands, we were quickly treated to wonderful views of the ocean, silver gate bridge, and associated nature.

As the run advanced, i decided that it needed to be one of my all time favorite courses. The hills were challenging but basically runnable, and the terrain wasn't very trade.I could look all around me rather than focus only in the grass ahead.

We ran over the open hills of the headlands, on the ocean, and through exquisite forests and meadows. The change regularly scenery and surroundings entertained us for miles, and i remained in good spirits at the time of.Charlie and i ran together before North Face:http://www.skyoga.co.uk/ last seven miles or so, when he began to feel the gap and slowed down a little. (Running a 50k certainly an something i talked him into! We've already agreed that we'll do a 25k for our next race alongside one another. )

I finished the 50k course in five hours and 44 minutes good for 9th place among the women.Upon checking effects, i learned that i'd finished in identical place in the north face endurance challenge 50k in bellingham, oregon back in 2009.It Sale seems i'm daily, in any case!

As far as race operation goes, north face does a excellent job.Frequent aid stations with water and food meant i only needed to carry a single handheld water bottle.I far prefer running with no backpack, which means this proved a huge race benefit.Timing chips tracked runners truthfully, staggered starts for different race distances meant little crowding on the trail, and ample food and ice baths at the tip line gathering assured a strong recovery. The only post race speed bump turned out to be the shuttle system once again. At this point, we had unquestionably we'd catch a bus, but we waited an hour before one came out.More routine buses(Or smaller vans that ran constantly)Could be seen as a better race option for future.

By the point we made it back to our hotel and showered, we would've easily fallen asleep. As a replacement, we made yourself rally for an italian dinner out in tiberon. And positive thing we did!And afterward our meal, we took a walk around the harbor.Down the bay, we often see the lights of san francisco's city skyline and the golden gate bridge. With all the docks in tiburon, boats were aglow with colorful any party lights.

I'm happy to report, charlie stopped me midway through our walk and explained he had something to give me.He removed a ring and said,"You will too marry me,

I discussed yes, sure. And now the north face persistence challenge, while using the town of tiburon, will have a special meaning for the both of us.
